Turbosound looks forward to a Mega prolight+sound 2009

For the first time this year, German distributor Mega Audio GmbH will be showing a range of Turbosound’s market leading loudspeakers on its stand at the annual prolight+sound trade fair in Frankfurt from 1st to 4th April 2009, having just been appointed as the company’s new German distributor.

Exhibiting on Stand C22, Hall 8.0, Turbosound will be showing its highly innovative TCS series sound contracting products, and its groundbreaking Flex Array system in both flown and ground-stacked configurations.

The new TCS series is a complete range of installation products ranging from a large-format double 18” subwoofer and two single 15” arrayable subs, through 12” and 15” active/passive two-way mid-highs to an ultra-compact 6.5” passive model. Turbosound has also developed a high power three-way switchable bi-amp / tri-amp loudspeaker to provide contractors with a full complement of solutions, rounded out with a high quality ceiling speaker for background sound applications.

Directly benefiting from the development work that led to the success of the Flex Array line array/virtual point source speaker system, TCS series’ Dendritic waveguides deliver improved arrayability and endless cluster possibilities together with true Turbosound voicing. The well-proven Converging Elliptical waveguide also features in the range, with the smooth and even dispersion characteristics that are ideal for smaller clubs, cafés and restaurants.

The TCS series provides a vast array of useful options – including IP54 weather-resistance, and a choice of custom colors above and beyond the standard black or white textured paint. In addition, the TCS-122 and TCS-152 are offered with a choice of factory-supplied horn dispersion patterns: 90°h x 60°v, 60°h x 40°v, and 90°h x 40°v, contributing to the range’s considerable versatility. The high frequency horns in all mid-high cabinets are conveniently rotatable in order to achieve accurate coverage of any venue.

Digitally self-powered options are also available – with full network capability ¬– to allow the creation of highly controllable loudspeaker networks easily adaptable to multiple zones and performance requirements. The lightweight Class D amplifiers feature 96kHz DSP for pristine sound quality, together with full remote control and fault logging using TurboDrive software to ensure consistent and reliable operation.

TCS-122 two-way and TCS-152 three-way mid/high TCS cabinets feature a double-trapezoidal shape that results in neater-looking tight-packed flown clusters, and there are two single 15” bass cabinets configured to fly tidily and conveniently with either 12” or 15” based mid/highs. Multiple integral rigging points, supported by internal steel flying strips, are provided on each cabinet to allow for a wide range of rigging possibilities. Simple external rigging hardware enables the creation of modular loudspeaker clusters with a wide range of coverage possibilities.

Performance of the TCS series is backed up by independently measured and accredited EASE data to ensure accurate and predictable results in all types of venue.

Both Mega Audio and Turbosound staff will be on the stand to show visitors the many advantages of using Turbosound loudspeakers, which have proved so consistently successful in the live and installed sound industry.
