TAU INTRODUCES ASSISTIVE SOUND AT ISE 2009

Stand 11F70 at ISE 2009 sees Dutch audio distribution specialist, Tau Audio Solutions, show a selection of its clients product ranges including those of Assistive Sound, the latest addition to its portfolio of brands.

Assistive Sound produces portable transmitter/receiver systems designed for a range of applications including guided tours, multi language interpretations, journalist V8 voice recording, AV language teaching and assistive wireless amplification systems.

Assistive Sound’s new AS201T/R system is a portable, body-pack style transmitter/receiver which has 16 user selectable operating frequencies. The system will operate at a range of up to 60 metres when used with AS201T belt-pack transmitter and up to 100 metres when used with the stationary AS301T transmitter.

The AS201R receiver has a black ergonomic ABS housing and is equipped with a belt-clip for hands-free operation. The AS201T transmitter, meanwhile, has a silver ergonomic ABS housing and is again equipped with a belt-clip for hands-free operation.

Controls include a channel selector and adjustable volume control with integrated on/off switch. A PL (Power LED) indicates if the system is active, whilst a TX LED on the AS201T and RX LED on the AS201R indicate if the system is transmitting/receiving.

The AS201T transmitter is equipped with a 3.5mm microphone input jack, a built-in microphone and a 3.5mm AUX input jack which, when used, takes priority over the microphone inputs.

The transmitter will operate on two AA batteries for up to 24 hours, or for up to 18 hours per charge when used with quality rechargeable batteries or a 5V DC power adaptor.

The AS201R receiver is also equipped with a 3.5mm output jack for use with either headphone, earphone or neck loop and a 3.5mm AUX output jack. As with the receiver, the transmitter will operate on two AA batteries for up to 24 hours, or for up to 18 hours per charge when used with quality rechargeable batteries or a 5V DC power adaptor.

Drop-in charging points allow a number of receivers/transmitters to be charged at the same time, depending upon what type of charger is used.
