ASL Intercom systems aid learning in the Philippines

The quality, reliability and ease-of-use of ASL Intercom systems means that they can be found right across the globe, in a wide variety of performance spaces - from the biggest concert halls through to schools and colleges.

Two of the most recent installations of the latter type have been in the Philippines, at System Plus College in Angeles City and La Salle College of Saint Benilde in the capital Manila.

Systems Plus College is a non-sectarian private school offering a wide range of courses for students. Supplied and installed by ASL’s Philippines distributor, Mandaluyong City-based Stage Craft International, a stage communication system comprising six BS15 belt packs, six HS1/D single muff lightweight headsets and a BS181 power supply has been installed in the main college auditorium.

Stage Craft has also supplied a large system comprising 16 BS15 belt packs, 17 HS1/D single muff headsets and a PS279 twin-channel Master Station to De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, a private Catholic college which offers the only Technical Theatre course in the Philippines.

Based at the college’s School of Design and Arts, the course features a cutting-edge technical specification to prepare students for careers in the theatre and live music industries in as realistic a way as possible. The use of the ASL intercoms means not only that that large-scale productions can be put on at the school, to provide excellent hands-on training, but that students will be used to operating one of the production industry’s most widely-used intercom systems when they leave college.

“The price of ASL system are highly competitive, but they are also extremely reliable,” says Rene Salvador Stage Craft International. “We use ASL Intercom in many of our installation projects at schools and colleges, further examples of which have included the La Salle Greenhills Auditorium and the Miriam College Auditorium.

“We also supply a great deal of ASL Intercom products to our rental customers, who are always extremely impressed by the quality and reliability of the systems.”
