LIGHTHOUSE IS IN CONTROL WITH NEW LIP-XGA

Hong Kong – 7 September, 2007 - Lighthouse is launching a brand new product in September, which will bring the image quality of the company’s LED screens to an even higher level.

Making its industry debuts at the IBC (7-11 September, Amsterdam) and PLASA (9-12 September, London) trade shows, the LIP-XGA display controller improves yet further the performance and versatility of Lighthouse LED screens.

With the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive meaning that all materials used in electronic products used in the UK have to conform to exacting standards to avoid restricted substances going into the waste stream, compliance with the directive is essential.

Lighthouse is an industry leader in RoHS compliance and has, of course, gone to great lengths to ensure that the new product is fully compliant with the directive.

Able to process VGA, SVGA  and XGA signals, the LIP-XGA  has a maximum display resolution of  1024 x 768 from each of its four SDI outputs, enabling it to support LED screen resolutions from 4mm up to 30mm pixel pitch, offering users a much wider choice of applications.

The unit features one DVI and one analogue RGB input, with auto input detection and real time input source indicator. As well as the four SDI outputs, it also includes three monitor outputs supported for DVI, analogue RGB and LIP-XGA output.

Able to drive individual panels in a display or all panels at the same time, the LIP-XGA controls brightness, contrast, gamma, colour balance and gamut of the screen, as well as generating digital video data and synchronising signals.

It also features board FPGA and CPU version detection, with overwrite and transparent keying mode supported. A colour corrector is built-in for SMPTE TV colour and video processing for uniform white balance, Nine LIP test patterns and 79 panel test patterns can be generated, with four banks available for saving user parameters.

“Alongside our commitment to continual improvements of our LED screens, Lighthouse Technologies is always striving to introduced the best possible control solutions,” says Lighthouse managing director Mark Chan. “Even the most advanced screen in the world cannot look at its best unless the hardware controlling it is also at the cutting edge of the industry.

“With LIP-XGA, Lighthouse has once again taken LED screen control to another level. And with our commitment to RoHS compliance, users are 100% safe in the knowledge that they comply with all the very latest legislative requirements.”
