Date: September 2006 XTA for M.Y.A. The beginning of October saw one of Italy’s newest clubs, M.Y.A. in Brescia, take delivery of a sound system equal to its high-class image and XTA digital signal processing forms a key component. M.Y.A. is a gourmet restaurant during the early part of the evening, but after 11 o’clock the volume is raised and M.Y.A. turns into an exclusive nightclub that plays host to some of Italy’s top DJs including DJ, producer and music journalist Nello Simioli. The venue is rumoured to have a private lift to deliver its VIP guests up to the club level and being a VIP at club M.Y.A also has the added benefit of access to the private enclosed booth that overlooks the dance floor. Located around the room are glass cases displaying jewellery and makeup, which female guests have the option of trying when visiting the ladies room where staff are on hand to assist with advice on the products. XTA’s Italian distributor, Audiosales, designed and supplied the PA which comprises Martin Audio loudspeakers controlled by XTA DP424 and DP448 processors. “We have one DP424 for the main area of the club that has been configured as a 2x2 way to drive four AQ212 Martin Audio subs and six AQ12 satellites,” explains Audiosales Stefano Rocchi. “As the subs couldn’t be lined up symmetrically due to the shape of the club, outputs 1 and 3 have been set in Mono-Sum (L+R). The restaurant is divided into three separate zones that need to be individually controlled. “We used an XTA DP448 for this purpose which controls four Martin Audio AQ112 subs and 14 AQ8. After 11pm these three zones can be adjusted individually so the space can be as flexible as possible. The DP448 has been configured utilizing the completely flexible routing facility to give us 2x2 way and a 1x4 way zoning system. Being able to easily access the system parameters from the front panel allowed us to be able to make any final adjustments to the system on the night. [ENDS]
