AMPETRONIC’S NEW CONTRACTOR LOOP SYSTEM DRIVER LAUNCHES AT PROLIGHT+SOUND 2008

On Stand G30, Hall 8.0 at Frankfurt’s ProLight+Sound exhibition, leading induction loop manufacturer Ampetronic unveils the CLS2; the first in a new series of induction loop drivers designed to meet the demands of the electrical contractor. It is the most powerful, most compact and most versatile wall mounted loop driver produced to date.

The CLS2 has full input flexibility, capable of supporting up to three independently controlled feeds from balanced and unbalanced lines, microphones, speakers and 100V line systems. In addition, there are two priority alarm inputs suitable for connection to an emergency alarm system, doorbell or telephone.

The amplifier is designed for permanent installation, with its compact size and clean design making it possible to install discretely in any environment. All connections, inputs and controls are secured behind a cover fitted with tamper resistant screws, leaving only operation indicators visible. The CLS2 has a wide range of options for connection of cable and conduit to give the contractor a great deal of flexibility, making installation simple and tidy.

For any induction loop system, area coverage is dependent on several factors, but the CLS2 is substantially more capable than its competitors, being able to cover square rooms over 250m2 (much larger if rectangular). This level of coverage makes the CLS2 ideal for applications such as community centres, churches, boardrooms and classrooms. The higher level of power produced by the CLS2 also provides enough power to cope with structural metal losses in smaller rooms, a common problem with loop systems in modern buildings.

The dimensions of the loop amplifier are only 200mm x 200mm x 44mm (W x H x D) and it weighs in at just 1.8kg. What is more, with the product being backed by Ampetronic’s standard five-year warranty and comprehensive support services, the CLS2 is truly fit and forget.

The CLS2 is CE marked to all relevant safety and EMC standards, EN60065, EN55103. The CLS2 will meet the requirements of IEC60118-4 and the relevant recommendations of BS7594 if specified and installed according to Ampetronic’s instructions.
