XTA ANNOUNCES NEW DISTRIBUTORS FOR SWEDEN AND BULGARIA

SPL is based in Hagersten near Stockholm and is owned and operated by Kare and Asa Hjelm, also co-owners of United Audio Starlight, one of the largest rental companies in Sweden. Until recently, Asa Hjelm was managing director of the United Audio Starlight group.

“We have been using XTA equipment in our rental company for many years,” says Kare. “And we now have over 100 units, so we are familiar with every aspect of the product line. This puts us in an excellent position to be able to offer expert advice and support to XTA customers in the Swedish market.”

In Bulgaria’s capital of Sofia, THC also has experience born of many years in the sound rental business, with owner Tony Hadad having engineered for Iron Maiden, The Killers, Deep Purple and Monserrat Caballe to name but a few. Having dealt with the company for a number of years, XTA has now agreed an exclusive distribution arrangement with them for the Bulgarian market.

“We're already hard at work for XTA,” comments Radolina Krasteva, THC’s marketing manager. “We have taken delivery of six DS800s that will be used on the Bulgarian version of Pop Idol, due to start at the end of March.”

THC also provided a DP448 for Solvenian band Liabach’s Valentine’s Day concert in Sofia’s Hristo Botev Hall as well as for Switched On!, an initiative launched by British Council in Bulgaria and DS Music to commemorate Bulgaria's EU accession, with musical producers from the UK remixing Bulgarian songs during a project. UK producers to take part in the project include Howie B, DJ Krust, Tim Exile, Deekline and Wizard featuring JFB and Mira Aroyo. The first performance took place on February 24 2007 in Sofia's Party Centre Fourth km.

“SPL and THC have great knowledge and enthusiasm,” says XTA’s market manager Stuart Down. “We’re very happy to be welcoming them to the XTA family and I am looking forward to working with both companies on increasing XTA’s business and support in their respective territories”.
