LIGHTHOUSE TAKES LED SCREENS TO THE NEXT STAGE AT JAPAN SHOP 2008

Japan – 5th March 08 - As advertising and point of sale services become ever-more sophisticated, LED screens are now fundamental to the retail sector, meaning that it is a key market for Lighthouse Technologies.

Recognising this, Lighthouse will have a key presence at LED Next Stage, part of the Nikkei ShopBiz exhibition, Japan's largest comprehensive trade fair for the retail industry.

Taking place at Tokyo Big Sight - the city’s International Exhibition Centre - from 4th-7th March, Nikkei ShopBiz 2008 brings together a diverse array of retail service providers - from electronic signboards to smart cards - and it’s certain that Lighthouse will be both one of the most eye-catching and technically advanced.

On Stand LE3005 in East Hall 3, Lighthouse will be displaying the company’s very latest products - the ultra-high resolution R4-B LED screen and innovative LED video solution, LEDscapeâ Tile.

The black-faced R4-B panels bring a new dimension to the already superb picture quality of Lighthouse R4 LED screen. By combining the R4’s superfine resolution with Lighthouse’s new 3 in 1 black Surface Mount Device (SMD) LEDs, a much better contrast level and visual performance have been achieved.

The black casing of the SMD LED provides a truer black level within the displayed image and a contrast ratio of 3300:1. The R4-B also runs at lower temperatures than conventional R4 screen, making it both more economical to run and highly suitable for retail environments where minimum heat output is essential.

The slim, ultra lightweight, easily-installed design features 2000 nits of brightness, a horizontal viewing angle of 140º (+70º/-70º) and vertical viewing angle of 90º (+40º/-50º), making R4-B panels ideal for a wide range of retail and advertising applications, both temporary and permanent.

LEDscapeâ Tile is designated for creative applications where transparency is required. With its weather-proof and high brightness design, it is particularly suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications with high ambient light.

Each LEDscapeâ Tile is available in 10mm or 12mm pixel pitch and the tiles can be arranged in any configuration or shape. With its lightweight yet rugged design, it is very easy to set up and transport, offering literally limitless creative possibilities.

Lighthouse will have 20 panels of R4-B screen and 120 panels of LEDscapeâ Tile on show at the exhibition.
